[BEDA: 30] BOOM!

30 days. 30 blogs. Done.

My mum was working today, so I ended up looking after my granny until around 2 or so, then I showered and went into town.

Tina had asked me to help out at a show Out of the Darkness were putting on, but I hadn't heard anything from her, then I text her last night asking, but she didn't reply until really late, by which point I'd already said yes to doing something with Ryan.

However, the way things worked out, I ended up going down to see the show. Which although there was an obvious mistake in it, I thought went alright. It kept me interested any way.

I stayed behind a little afterward, to talk to Tina. She said she'd get in touch mid-week some time. Which is fine.

Then I went out and called A-Cloud, who was meant to be getting in touch with me around 4. I woke him up with the call, but he told me to head to his and we'd leave from there, to go out to Ryan's. I did and we left. Ryan called and suggested we meet him in Findhorn instead. So I had to guide A-Cloud to Findhorn, get him parked, get us to the Kimberley.

We had a nice meal outside in the sun then headed back to Ryan's, via Tesco. The plan being to stay late and play monopoly, have some snacks, maybe watch a film.

All that was cut short though, when Ryan came through and told us that his uncle was found dead. At which point, we all left. Jonny taking Ryan to his grandparents and me and A-Cloud heading home.

And that's pretty much how I'm going to end the 30th and last blog of BEDA...

I'm pretty proud of myself this month. I successfully completed two challenges. BEDA and Script Frenzy.

[BEDA: 29] Smile

Today was the Royal Wedding, something that I hadn't planned to watch at all. I didn't (and still don't, really) get the hype of it all. However, I woke up at 10:30am and figured I'd put it on and live tweet it for a while. I ended up watching it until around 2pm, when the married couple went back inside, having come out onto the balcony at Buckingham Palace.

My granny came home from the day centre just as I was leaving, they'd had a Wedding party for them all, so she was all dressed up (kinda). She's also been really smiley and happy since she had the seizure -- she can have more if this is the only side effect.

People were meeting in the park for a bit, so I gave Paula a text and went round to hers and we walked down. We met them all by the pond, and I got an ice cream. We just kinda hung out there for a while, before going our separate ways.

Staying in tonight. But here's a picture I took of my mum and granny earlier.

[BEDA: 28] Tough Times

Yet again, I didn't do a whole lot today. My mum was working, so I had to be up to let my granny in, which was fine. She came home all smiling and laughing though. I'd gone outside to get her, and she pointed at my bare feet and laughed. Why was I not wearing shoes? LOL.

She continued to be fairly upbeat, and was seemingly watching the TV and taking in what was being said, laughing at the jokes being told.

I'd asked what the plans were for tonight, and was told that it was going to be a night at Allan's and then out, which I didn't want to do, Ryan said that he was going to be sober, so I could go be sober with him, if I wanted. I took him up on it and it ended up being an alright, quiet, night. Granary and then Muckle.

I also had yet another idea for a story. Though I'm not sure if I'll go ahead with it.

Also, I broke my phone further earlier, meaning that I'm going to have to send it away to get fixed sooner. The power button isn't working, which for unlocking the phone is fairly important. So now, I've disabled the lock screen and I can use the volume button to take the phone out of it's stand-by/screen off mode. Which is fine.

Unsure of what's happening tomorrow yet, or Saturday. I need to get in touch with people.

[BEDA: 27] Randolph's Leap

Today I woke up at 7:15am. I told my mum I'd make sure she was awake by around 7, but I forgot to set any kind of alarm for myself, so the fact that I woke up at that time was good. However, I tried to get back to sleep after wakening my mum and failed miserably. Gutted.

Later, Ryan came and picked me up and after picking up Jasmin and going to ASDA, we all headed out to Randolph's Leap. Ryan, Tom and Liam were already there when we got there, and had been in the water -- we could hear their screams long before we saw them... The water was cold.

It was a really warm day though, so it was nice to be outside. Even if the water was, for the most part, avoided.

Ryan, Tom and Liam had to leave pretty early, but the rest of us stuck around and walked a while upstream, finding a nice little beach area to sit on for a while. Though it soon came time for us to leave too, and trek back to the car.

Once home, I got the pictures and the video from my memory cards onto the computer and then started the pictures uploading to Flickr. Then I went to ASDA, again, and bought some pasta, mince and bolognese sauce, amongst other things, for my mum to make me my dinner.

I met Allan, Ryan and ACloud, they were heading out to Ryan's, but I'd already decided against it.

Once home, I had a shower, had my dinner and started editing the video. It's got another 8-bit track underneath it, I think, if I can, I'm going to continue using tracks from 8bc.org for my videos.

That's pretty much all that happened today.

[BEDA: 26] Back to Casualty

I went to sleep at around 5am and got woken to my mum screaming my name at around 7:50am.

My granny had had another seizure. This time though, luckly, she was still in bed. She hadn't fallen and hurt herself, but it did signify that the fall and bang to the head maybe wasn't what caused the first one.

She didn't stop breathing or anything, but the seizure itself was the exact same as last time. So we called an ambulance, the paramedics arrived and gave her oxygen and took her up to the hospital where we then followed in the car.

At the hospital they made us wait for a while in the waiting room, before calling us through. While I understand that it's proceedure and they can't really give anyone special treatment, you'd think that for someone with dementia, someone who can't really communicate their normal behaviour, they'd call through at least one family member/carer as soon as they were available, to oversee things.

Anyway, when we got through, she was already slowly sliding herself down the bed to get out and telling everyone to go away, and that she was going home -- a marked improvement on last time, when she was super quiet.

A nurse brought her some tea and toast which she downed. Then they got her dressed and stuff, and made sure she was alright on her feet (she was).

The doctor said that because it was the second seizure and not one that could be attributed to a fall/bang on the head, they were going to put her on some anti-seizure meds. So she's got a fortnight's worth of those home with her, all her blood tests came back fine and there was no sign of infection at all, that might have caused it.

She was falling asleep on the drive home, but the doctor said that that was normal and that they'd expect a patient to be tired after a seizure.

The patient's grandson is also tired though and is now going back to sleep.

Huzzah!

[BEDA: 25] God of Thunder

I had to be up at around 9am this morning, to look after my granny until she left at 10:30, while my mum went to work. After that, I went back to sleep until 2pm, when my granny got home again.

I bummed around the livingroom half watching Muppet's Treasure Island and Chicken Run until my mum got home from work at which point I came back to my room and played some Sims, before finalising plans to go see Thor with Tain.

We got to the cinema just as it started. The cinema was pitch black -- no side lights or anything, which made navigating the stairs hard, the only relief from the darkness was the occasional flashes of lightning from the screen.

The film was good though, a little slow at points, but it had humour to it and the special effects for the most part looked good. It'll be interesting to see how they pull all the characters together for the Avenger's film. I hope it works out though, I loved when they all grouped together in the cartoons.

After the cinema, I walked with Tain to his then got picked up. Going to ASDA and then McDonald's.

I've got some ideas for creative stuff bouncing around just now. Both require a little time to get going though, but at least one should see the light of day within a month or so, I reckon. I need to wait for, well, the light of day to come around first.

End.

[BEDA: 24] Pudding Lane

So today, yet again, I didn't do a whole lot. I woke up pretty late, after an awesome sleep and then remembered that I still had a new episode of Fringe to watch. Which I did.

It's getting pretty late into season 3 and so far it's been pretty amazing, I'm glad it's been picked up for a fourth season and I can't wait to find out how this one ends.

Later, it was quiz time. Paula picked me up and we went and grabbed Tain. It ended up just being us three, and in honour of the last time it was just us three, our team name was "Men With Moustaches" -- That name came about due to utterly failing at the connections round the first time we were in a team together. We didn't know the connection so ended up forcing the connection to be Men With Moustaches.

Tonight's connection round, we managed to successfully get the connection and I even made up a name that ended up being right. Win.

I just finished uploading this video, it was filmed out at Ryan's yesterday. It's mainly Ryan being an idiot. Enjoy.

[BEDA: 23] Gallifrey

A bunch of us headed out to Ryan's for what had been said would be a barbecue. That didn't really happen though and we sat and played some games for a bit, and even headed outside when it stopped raining to throw around a football. There's some video from that that I plan to edit tomorrow at some point.

The barbecue turned into hotdogs. Which was fine, but not the most filling thing ever.

Around 7:30pm, we left Ryan's and started on the journey back to Elgin, where we'd arranged to meet up at Tesco, to prepare for Car Hide & Seek.

Three cars, 11 people. Go.

It didn't go well for our team at all, losing out at every opertunity we had. Sometimes by miles, sometimes by seconds. We took a brief break mid-way for a McDonalds, which was fine. And CC, Logan and Tain joined in  after the second round.

Once I got home, I chatted to my mum for a bit and then finally sat down to watch the new episode of Doctor Who, which was awesome and I'm currently in the middle of watching the Confidential episode just now. I'd heard they originally planned to have the two-parter series opener air on both Saturday and Sunday. But, that's changed now and it's airing next week instead. While I wouldn't have been able to watch it live, I don't think, from how the first episode finished, I really wish the second episode was tomorrow.

Robyn hates Doctor Who apparently. She can go burn in hell.

The end.

[BEDA: 22] Cheating

I completely forgot to write this last night, so I'm cheating and writing it now.

Only able to do so, because I know nothing really happened yesterday. I slept a lot of the day and stayed in a night, I ended up downloading and installing The Sims 2 again, something that I do every so often, when I get a sudden urge to play it. An urge that quickly leaves again, when I realise just how boring it becomes.

That's about it for yesterday.

[BEDA: 21] Too Much Food

Today, I woke up early and waited to hear from either Robyn or Allan about the day's plans. Allan spoke up first, and eventually I met him on the plainstones at around 12.

Rhiannon, Amy, Allan and I went to the muckle, where we got some lunch, then Amy, Robyn, Allan and I went to the bus station to find out when the next bus to Findhorn was. We had around 20mins to wait. In that time, Rhiannon realised that she didn't have her keys, so she came to collect them.

The bus was £6.40. Which was a lot cheaper than we expected.

Once in Findhorn, we went for a walk along the beach and generally hung out around there for a while, attempting to build a sand castle, getting bored with that really quickly and wishing we could go in the water, but knowing that it'd be freezing cold and that none of us had come at all prepared to do so.

We then made our way to The Kimberley Inn, where we ended up getting some dinner. I'm not sure any of us were that hungry, but still, we managed to all order big meals. I had a steak pie.

It was around this point we decided to check the bus times for going home, our options were 5:30 or 7:30 and given that Allan had already made plans to go to the cinema at night, we opted for the 5:30 bus. We went back down to the water front, for a little bit before heading to the bus stop and waiting for our bus.

Once back in Elgin, I phoned for a lift home and walked with Allan, Amy and Robyn into town, where I met Karen. I stopped with her and chatted to her for a bit. While chatting to her and showing her some of the photos, we got offered some pot.

"Either of you's smoke?"
"Nope."
"None of you's?"
"Nah."
"Got any pot?"
"No."
"Want some?"

Fine, thanks.

Later, Ryan came and picked me up and we went and met the others after they'd been at the cinema, going to the cooperage for a drink. Then Ryan, CC and I went to McDonalds quickly before I came home again.

[BEDA:20] Insert Blog Title Here

Once again, I didn't do a whole lot of anything today -- Hopefully going out tomorrow though, which should be fun, if it happens.

What I did do today was update my website to include a link to the full script frenzy script what I wrote.

I really don't like the design of my site as it is, but it has everything on it that needs to be there and I'm too lazy tos it down and design something better, so, for now it'll do.

I'm still not sure how I feel about the script as a whole. Despite the fact that people have read it and said it's good. I'm still not sure how I feel about it, if I'm happy with it. I still like the characters, but whether I'd be happy watching the story on the screen, I'm not sure. While writing it, I wondered if it wouldn't work better as a series, than a one off... But I don't know...

There's not much else to say today. Blog over.

[BEDA: 19] Walkabout

Without Script Frenzy, I've been left very bored. As much as I was getting tired with it, at least it was giving me something to do.

Today, I did next to nothing. So I'll focus on yesterday.

So, yesterday(!)... Well, in the morning, my mum left for work, leaving me in charge of my Granny until it was time for her to go to the day centre place. A total time of around 1.5 hours. She gave me her key, the only key we had, because I lost mine and left.

Shortly before 10:30am, when my granny was due to leave, I put my hand into my pocket for the key. It wasn't there. I searched for it. Couldn't find it anywhere. Fuck.

I ended up having to guide my granny through the kitchen and out the back door, and around the side of the house. Not easy. It was done though. And I went back to sleep until 2pm when she was due home. Still without the key, I had to guide her back in the same way she went out. Again. Not easy.

Later, after my mum got home, Tain came around and we went for a walk down into the park to take photos of the stencil graffiti. We'd gone to see it the day before, but I didn't have my camera with me and Tain wanted to see it. Two birds, etc.

After that, we walked around the back of boroughbriggs, following the river and then up to Tesco, before going back to Tain's through the Academy, having a look at the new building on-route.

I want to know whether or not building sites have to tell you about any security measures they have in place. There were plenty "Keep Out" signs and the usual "Danger - Hard Hat Area" sort of signs, but there was no mention of security and those signs mentioned are usually just there to clear them of any liability should someone enter and injure themselves.

I'd like to enter. Preferably not coming to any harm though.

End.

[BEDA: 18] #ScriptFrenzy

Script Frenzy count: 105 pages.

'Wait, what's that?' I hear you ask, 'a hundred and five pages? Doesn't that mean you completed it? It was a hundred pages, right?'

Yes. You are correct. I'm done! Boooooooooom. I wrote about twenty pages last night, I was up until six in the morning, but I wrote twenty pages! I pretty much suck at endings and I'm sure this one is no different. But hey, I don't really care. It's finished. I can go back to it at some point and think about redrafting it. But it was getting to the stage where I just wanted it to be done. I was getting bored of it - something, which if it'd continued, would have meant me stopping writing before the 30th, unfinished. Which would have been disappointing.

I don't have a whole lot else to say. Have this video:

[BEDA: 17] Quiz On Your Face

Script Frenzy: 85 pages.

I woke up at around 1pm with my alarm, in an effort to get ready for the 'late lunch' that had been planned with Debbie and Co. In the end, I lay in bed until around 2:30 (the planned meeting time was at 3) I got up, decided I could get away without showering (I'd showered last night) and left.

It was an awesome day outside, I listened so some music going across the park and then met Stuart outside the Muckle, before going in and meeting Allan, Alexa and Brody. We got a table and grabbed a seat for Debbie. We then ended up ordering without Debbie (and then eating without Debbie, because in her mind a "late lunch" is a lunch she's late to).

After food, we decided to go down to the park. We ended up in the little park so Brody could play, before going to the slide. We were going to go on the boats, but we'd left it too late, so instead Allan, Debbie, Stuart and I got an ice cream and sat and ate it as Debbie plotted how to steal one of the boats. What she planned to do with the boat she was planning on stealing, I'm not sure. But that was still her plan.

After ice cream, I came home, and edited together a vlog of sorts, comprised of clips from the past couple of days. I don't know how funny or anything it is, but I was bored.

Then it was quiz time! -- I went and showered beforehand, I got away without one this afternoon, but since then there had been a good few hours of sweating in the sun, so I felt horrible.

It was Rhiannon and Robyn doing the quiz, it was a pretty good one and not just because we ended up winning. We ended up with 49 points, and the prize money of £54 something.

Paul said something along the lines of "funny how YOU guys won" implying that we'd cheated because we knew the quizmasters. The fact that he helped with the picture round (yet still didn't get full marks), knows the quizmaster just about every other week AND this week... Didn't seem to matter to him.

Annoyingly, we tried to get some answers from Rhiannon, but she wouldn't give us any.

Bloop!

[BEDA: 16] A band on a train

I got up today and threw on a hat because I couldn't be bothered showering, I then walked into town to meet Stuart, Tain and CC. After being told a few different locations, I finally found them outside of Scribbles, where I got into CC's car and we drove over to the retail park.

CC was looking for some girls jeans and a shirt. He found both and we were then on our way. We went over to Homebase, where we browsed through the furnature, kitchens and bathrooms. Then we went over to Pets At Home, where we looked at the rabbits an' shit and I bought some dog food before leaving.

The plan was then to go to the woods, for a walk around, but because Tain wanted to get to the gym and stuff, that never really ended up happening. We did go to the woods though, for a short period of time and Beth announced to us all that she really needed to take a dump. Something which none of us wanted to know at all, but unfortunately she feels comfortable telling us that sort of information. Great.

When I got home again, Richard asked what I was up to, and did I want to go to the cinema. Sure. So I went and actually showered and he came and got me. However, the cinema had already started when we got there, so we decided against it and phoned Paula to see if she wanted to come to McDonalds instead. She did. We did. Then came home again.

I haven't written anything for Script Frenzy today, though I plan to after this. I'm going to leave you with another video from the vault. "The Special Edition go recording" - It's just short of 20minutes long, but I found it funny. Whether anyone else will, I don't know.

[BEDA: 15] Orbs and Wallets

Script Frenzy: 76 - That's 5 more pages, bitcheeeess.

Feeling the urge to create a new wallet, I bought myself some duct tape in ASDA the other night.

I actually made it over the course of two nights, but it only took a few hours in total. It's a fairly easy process, it's just fiddly, because the tape is, well, sticky... and it sticks at times you don't want it to.
My original plan (as seen above) was to create three card slots down one side, two down the other with an ID flap coming down over the top of the second side. Then behind each card slot would be space to put stuff, should I need it and then a notes compartment at the back.

Despite making an ID flap, I opted against putting it onto the wallet. But the rest of the design is as I drew it, crudely, in photoshop (I'm more upmarket than paint, obv). The final wallet is pretty big, but I'm still happy with it. It seems a lot more solid than the last one I made.

In other news, Google Video has been sending me emails about the fact that they're gonna be deleting all videos hosted on their site, so I've gone in and saved all the videos I had up there. Here's one I found. After Effects ftw, aye?

[BEDA: 14] Desire

Script Frenzy: 71
I've been slowing way down on my script frenzy effort. Still ahead of schedule and will hopefully write more tomorrow, but I've been sleeping during my productive times (middle of the night) so things haven't been working out so well.

I cracked my phone on Monday night and since it's been behaving weirdly. I'm not sure that it's entirely the phone at fault though, as it does seem to be working fine in some places. I'm wondering if Three have turned off the 2G-ness in my area, as they have been doing elsewhere. So they're no longer using Orange as a partner. Not sure. We'll see how it goes. Should probably look into getting the screen fixed though.

I went to see Hop at the cinema tonight. It wasn't great, but nor was it awful. I had a lot of trouble believing that James Marsden was under 30 though. He was playing someone who was around 27, I'd say, when in fact he's 37 and he'll be 38 this year. Parts of it were funny, but I don't think there was enough funny bits to keep the film moving, it seemed pretty slow a lot of the time.

On Tuesday, as I think I probably said, I met Allan, Robyn and Charis in the Laichmoray bar. Here's a video from that day.

[BEDA: 12] Polar Bear

Script Frenzy: 68

I woke up just before 10:45am, to the sound of the two dogs barking. A sound that just didn't stop. My alarm was set for 10:45 any way, so it wasn't that big a deal, but still, annoying.

When I got up out of bed, I found my mum sat outside on the front step. Chatting to a neighbour. As you do. The dogs were barking because they wanted out to see the neighbour.

Not long after, Tina phoned. First asking if she'd woken me (she hadn't) and then saying that she was just heading into town, but she wanted to actually go about town first, so she'd be in the office an hour or so later.

I went and got myself showered and stuff, chatted to my mum for a bit, before walking across the park to the office. It was nice and sunny when I left and I was wearing shorts. When I got there though, I looked out the window at the sky which had become a dark grey colour. And rain had started to spatter against the window.

Tina and I spent a couple of hours sorting through photos and uploading them to facebook, which was nice. I love hearing all the stories that come from the company (almost as much as she loves telling them).

After we were done, I walked with Tina to the hairdressers and then went to the Laichmoray to meet Allan, Robyn and Charis. Amy came along later as well. We discussed Robyn being a commie bastard for a while, before going to the Torr House for tea. Where we opted to sit outside, because it'd turned nice again (albeit a little windy). Just as we finished out food though, the rain started again. We went back inside for a bit.

Then, I walked home across the park again. Trying to get my phone to work. Which, eventually it did start doing, though I'm still not sure why it ever stopped.

Since getting home, I've not done a whole lot. I wrote a couple more pages of Script Frenzy, I could have probably written more, but I'm feeling tired again. So not all that into it. At least I've written something though.

[BEDA: 11] Multiple Updates

Script Frenzy update: 66 pages.

Post 1.
So, as I write this, it's 8:14 in the AM. I've opted not to sleep today, twould seem. I tried to sleep at around 5:30, which was admittedly already quite late, but after an hour of trying, I failed. So I was awake again.

I then got talking to Emily, and now it's that time... and... I've got to be up in like half an hour. Then later, I might be going into the ODTC office again... and... Fun.

Post 2.
9:03am: I just got up and looked out the window for the first time. It's been raining. There goes the plan of wearing my shorts again today. Unless, I guess, it clears up over the course of the morning. I hope it does, as I'm not sure where my jeans are/if they're clean.

Post 3.
5:42pm: After my granny left at around 10pm, I went back to bed. Texting Tina and setting my alarm for 11:30. Tina then called not long after and mentioned the fact that she'd be in Elgin/The Office at some point tomorrow, if that'd be easier. I decided that it would be, given the lack of sleep. She said she'd get in touch tomorrow, I ended the phone call and went back to sleep. Getting up again at 1:30pm to let my mum in.

Now, at 5:42, I've been awake for around 20mins.

Post 4.
1:11am
I went out at around 7pm, to The Granary where I met Stuart and Morna and after a drink and some chips we made our way down to the Muckle, where were joined by Allan, Tain and eventually Paula, Donna and Amy.

It was a nice night, nothing extreme, just sat with friends. I'm still tired though, I'm going to attempt to get a few pages out for Script Frenzy before going to bed. I'm at 66, so hopefully get it up to 70.

Then sleep. Then go meet Tina tomorrow at some point. Not sure what she said she was doing as when she called earlier, I think she woke me up.

[BEDA: 10] #Winning

Script Frenzy: 60 pages.

I hit the wedding stuff on Script Frenzy last night, writing a best man's speech was interesting. I decided to have the character play it like he couldn't really care less about it. There are far more jokes than should probably be allowed in a speech of that nature, and not nearly enough sincerity. However, I think it works. To an extent at least.

Tonight, we went to Pub Quiz, as we do most sundays.

At the quiz, there's the quiz itself. Five rounds in total. A picture round, of 20 pictures. Usually famous faces. Three trivia rounds, the first of which is usually general knowledge and the third which is always music intros.

After the quiz there's an accumulator. Where people pay an extra pound for a raffle ticket (you can buy as many tickets as you want) for the chance to win either the jackpot (the total amount from the amount of tickets bought) or anything between £1 and £15.

To win, you select a ball. There are 16 balls and each ball has a number on it, apart from the 16th which is red. If you pick the red ball, you win the lot. If you pick a numbered ball, you get whatever amount of pounds the number equates to (ball 1, £1, ball 2, £2, etc).

The prize hadn't been won in around 12 weeks. And the total prize fund had accumulated to over £900. And today, Stuart won it. All.

He put £200 behind the bar, and bought everyone in the bar drinks.

At first we weren't sure if he had won it, it sounded like he had, but there wasn't that much cheering -- no-one was sure, I don't think... but he had... and yeah. Amazing.

Morna was also back for quiz, cause she's got an audition tomorrow.

Good times had by all.

[BEDA: 9] Here Comes The Bride

Script Frenzy: 55 pages.

Just a short blog today, and it's about the script.

It's starting to feel sluggish, things are moving too slow. I like the characters and I feel I've done a good job of showing the bonds between them all -- these people are meant to have known each other for around twenty years, but as what is essentially a build up to a wedding, it feels like it's taking too long to get there, or at least that not much is happening in the run up.

In the 55 pages, I've just started writing wedding stuff. Which has changed the pace a bit. I guess, but still. Not sure about it.

I'm not going to go back and edit anything out though, or try to speed things up. The goal just now is just to get to 100 pages (or more, depending on how long it takes to wind everything down again and finish the story).

[BEDA: 8] Mobile Blogging?

So yesterday I didn't do much of anything. I woke up around 3, and lay in bed for the majority of the day... interrupted every so often by the star wars cantina music (my ringtone), with Richard calling me.

#1
"hey man, that time we went to see Theatre Fall in Aberdeen, who were the other band?"
"Official Secrets Act."

#2
"hey, we're going to the park, you wanna come?"
"im still in bed, I'll be honest, its not likely..."

#3
"Hey, its cold, we're not at the park any more."

#4
"we're outside your house, come out, Paula wants to see your face."

I got out of bed, threw on some clothes and went outside. Sure enough, they were sat in the car. I stood chatting for a while, before getting in and directing them on a scenic route to Lossiemouth. Where we had an ice cream. Good times.

After that, we went home.

I went to sleep around midnight, but was up again by 2:30am. Caught up with the latest episode of Mr. Sunshine and Monroe. Then generally tried to sleep for the next six or so hours. Fun.

I'm heading down to the ODTC office at 4 to talk over some stuff with Tina.

I'll probably update this post late, with a final Script Frenzy count as well as some other stuff - I just wanted to test out the Blogger app on my phone.

Update: I was going to update this post, I figured I'd just leave it as it was, but then I was still up just now (4am) and so I decided, what the hell?

[BEDA: 7] 200th Blog

Script Frenzy Count: 46.

This is the 200th blog I've written. Well, technically it's not. I've written a few other blogs elsewhere, including a travel blog that I created last year.

However, this is the 200th 'normal' blog.

I moved all my old MySpace blogs -- MySpace being where I first started to blog, over to Blogger in June of 2008. Something that wasn't made all that easy for me to do. I ended up copying and pasting everything and writing in the dates.

I'm glad I did it though, the only regret is not being able to take the old comments with me.

I didn't really start blogging with any intention of carrying on with it, I think I just saw the blog button on MySpace and decided to write what I was doing at that moment in time and now, 200 blogs and 6 years later...

I talked a month or so ago about memories -- video and photos, which give glimpses into my life outside, into the lives of my friends. The blogs are more a glimpse into who I am though.

I wrote my first blog in June of 2005, I was 17 (I turned 18 later that month). I turn 24 this year. I still remember, quite vividly, writing those early blogs. Getting a feel for the format of it all.

Over the 200 blogs, you'll find me pouring out my heart, being a complete and utter dick to people who may or may not have deserved it, rambling on about absolutely nothing in the middle of the night, because my sleep pattern's never been what any one would consider normal. Trying to be funny. Being funny. Turning my hand at some more 'factual blogs' -- giving up on that idea completely.

[BEDA: 6] Paris, Je T'aime

Fuck fuck fuck. I forgot about BEDA and now it's 11:55pm.

Script Frenzy: 41 pages.

With Robyn in Paris, she's been talking a lot about it and I've been seeing the places she's been via her foursquare check-ins and stuff.

It's really made me miss it all. I've been twice now, once with Jamie, Allan, Jonny and Ryan and then once again with just Ryan. Both times were awesome, and I'd happily go again with them all.

But one thing I regret, perhaps foolishly, is not having documented it all properly.

There were video blogs from the first time and there was video from the second time as well, but neither of them were great.

The camera I had the first time was too big to really enjoy filming with, and the footage that came out of it wasn't great at all.

The second time, the camera was alright, but we just never really did anything worth filming -- A shit load of photos were taken though.

I'd love to go back, do some of the things we missed out the first two times and document the hell out of it all. Do proper 'vlogs', get some montage footage involved. Generally enjoy it all over again.

If the money is there, hopefully, with Allan and Robyn and whoever else wants to join in, I'll be going back in September. Hostel it up again, maybe visit Versailles.

Hopefully hopefully hopefully.

[BEDA: 5] Conflict

Script Frenzy count: 35/100

Now I have a question. Does a story need conflict? I asked this question to a couple of people last night and got responses from both sides. "yes, absolutely." and "no, not at all."

While I'm tempted to lean to the side of "no, not at all", I can't think of any examples without conflict, which leads me to believe that conflict.

Those examples extend to things i've written as well. I write a lot of character based stuff, but even within that, there's conflict. Relationship break-ups, Zombies, Wars... Unicorns... There's always something and even the script I'm writing for Script Frenzy, which it could be said has the least amount of conflict, still has some.

So, does a story, a film, need conflict? Can you think of any examples of a story without conflict?

[BEDA: 4] Mos Eisley Cantina

Script Frenzy:
I woke up at around 1, as planned, but purely by accident. I had planned to write a bit this afternoon but only managed to get one page out before I gave up and started browsing the internet. The internet is shit when you're trying to be productive. Especially things like Wikipedia, where you can follow link after link for hours and just find more and more interesting things.

I quite often find myself watching videos and reading articles, thinking "Why am I actually doing this?" -- I know I should be writing, but finding anything that means I'm not writing always seems a lot more fun.

After getting home tonight though, I managed to get 3 more pages out. In 19 minutes, DK informs me... And apart from the description of one scene, I think they're on par with the rest of the script -- that doesn't mean the rest of the script is great, but hopefully it's not awful either.

Other News:
I met up with Claire and Paula for tea, we were going to go to Littlejohns, but having sat down, we were told they were about to close, so we went across to Scribbles.

We were there for a while and joined briefly by Richard. Then afterwards we headed to the Thunderton for pub quiz. We didn't win, but didn't come last, surprisingly. It was a pretty difficult quiz. I'd lost interest by the last round though.

And that's the third blog done. Boom.

[BEDA: 3] Doctor Who

Script Frenzy update: I'm at 20 pages. I'm aiming to have all the characters together by 25-27 and the wedding to happen around page 50. Give or take 5.

In other news though, Doctor Who starts again soon. April 23rd to be slightly more precise. The BBC released a trailer for it a few days ago, a trailer that made me even more excited for it than I already was.

Here's the BBC Trailer.

Exciting. Action packed. Wow!

However, BBCAmerica released their trailer...

[BEDA: 2] Branderburgh

It has begun. Script Frenzy started at midnight, and before going to bed I'd tipped over onto my sixth page.

In order to get to the 100 page goal, they recommend writing at least 3.3 pages per day. So I'm off to a good start, but whether or not I'll be able to keep to that pace is another thing altogether.

I also had to throw in an extra character, a sister, that I hadn't planned for, to make things easier for myself. Hopefully it doesn't come across that way on the page though.

It's still in the introduction phase though, and there are still another four main characters to be introduced, along with their partners/family before the story can properly get going.

In other news, I watched the first episode of "Camelot", a new series in America based on the King Arthur legend. So far it's pretty interesting. I'll keep watching for a few more episodes, at least.

[BEDA: 1] Ooh, windows!

It's April and I've decided to enter myself into two writing-based activities. I was going to call them competitions, but I don't really feel like I'm competing in either of them.

First up, the one you're reading, if you're reading this is BEDA (Blog EveryDay in April), which does pretty much exactly what it says on the tin. It was originally attempted by Maureen Johnson, in 2009. It also took the form of VEDA (Vlog EveryDay in April).

I'm not sure if I'll be able to complete the month's worth of blogs, but I'm going to give it a go.

The second thing I'm attempting is Script Frenzy, which I attempted last year, but failed miserably at.
The goal is to write at least 100 pages of script in the 30 days of April. I decided I'd take part a couple of weeks ago, and from that point started to think of characters and plot for the script I'm going to be writing. Which is more than I usually do when I attempt to write something. We'll see how it goes, if I don't have anything major to write about on any particular day of BEDA, there should always be news of Script Frenzy to update with.

With that said, onward to BEDA #1!
